Now on enquiring from Halfords, apparently unless the battery is replaced with new one within 10 minuites, all the programme data is wiped off and key will need reprogramming. On looking at costs, it seems this could be £100 + via main dealer.

Hi, I've got a Citroen c4 grand picasso on a 2018 plate. My keyless entry has gone from working perfectly, to only working 1 way ie,locking. To not working at all. I've changed the key fob battery and it got worse after that. Also the car alarm has started randomly going off, 1/2 a week.

This is an interesting problem that we found this week, September 2018. The customer said the keys were working fine, but was getting a warning the the key b I reset it and two days later the same happened. I then read the handbook (page 23) and it tells you if the remote battery is getting low the service light will come on. Sure enough I reset it again and started using the other remote key and have not seen the spanner since. I hope this helps anyone else who has been puzzled by this.
